Hangeul Truck Visits Brown

In Celebration of Hangeul Day, Brown Celebrates the Korean Alphabet

In partnership with the Korean Culture Center of New York, Samsung Mobile has created an interactive art installation to celebrate and educate about Hangeul, the Korean alphabet. The Hangeul Truck, designed by Korean American artist Ik-Joong Kang, uses voice recognition software to translate any language into colorful Hanguel characters which appear instantly on the side of the retrofitted camper.

Arriving most recently from Harvard and heading off to Yale, the Hangeul Truck is on a tour of several East Coast universities. Today on the main green, Brown students were busy exploring the language and participating in the Korean holiday which celebrates this alphabet.
